When we think if the energy around us, we may just think of the energy inside of our home. Did you know that the space around our home also affects us and can tell a lot about our internal state?

In Feng Shui, your outdoor space represents how energy flows into your life and also the quality of it. For example, if your garden spaces are full of weeds, broken stepping stones, or burnt out lights, the energy that you attract will reflect that. These things can also prevent new opportunities from finding you.

Let’s decode your garden!

Overgrown, wild, or neglected

You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or energetically scattered.

When plants are overgrown, dying, or taking over, it often mirrors:

  • Procrastination

  • Emotional overwhelm

  • Avoiding things that are important

Don’t let this make you believe that you are lazy or there is something wrong with you.

Instead try this:

  • Pull weeds for 10 - 15 minutes

  • Tidy up one section at a time

  • Remove dead plants as this is blocking potential money from coming to you

You can also just hire a gardener to reset the garden and then just keep up with the maintenance.

A garden that won’t bloom

If you have tried everything in your garden but things just don’t seem to grow or bloom, then where else in your life are you putting in the effort and not seeing many results?

This can look like:

  • Being the friend that everyone can count on but no one is there for you

  • People pleasing and suffering as a result

  • Working hard, burning out, and not seeing results for your effort

Your garden is literally showing you a lack of energetic return.

How to fix this:

  • Try adding fresh soil or plant food

  • Pull what isn’t growing and replace it with something that you love

  • Try adding plants and flowers i pots instead to bring some color and new energy

A bare or empty outdoor space

If this is your garden space, are you disconnected from joy and purpose? Or this could even be a worthiness issue, you may not feel worthy of having a garden to admire and relax in.

An empty garden often reflects:

  • The famous ‘I’ll do it later’ energy

  • Survival mode

  • Lack of clarity and inspiration

The key here is to bring in life gently so you don’t shock your nervous system.

Try this:

  • Add one or two potted plants

  • Some lighting

  • Create a small seating area, even if it is just one chair for now

Doing any of these alone will shift the energy and help you attract more.

A beautiful garden that you never use

You have put in the work and created something beautiful but, you never have the time or even let yourself enjoy it.

This is often an indication of:

  • Overworking

  • Guilt around rest

  • Always being in doing mode instead or receiving mode

This is your reminder to start using your beautiful garden, it was created for you.

Start by:

  • Having your morning coffee outside

  • Journal in your garden

  • At the end or beginning of the day, just spend 5 minutes taking some deep breaths in your garden

A thriving, blooming garden

You are in alignment and you can see the beauty in life. You are also a great receiver.

This reflects:

  • Care and consistency

  • Emotional nourishment

  • A connection to beauty and growth

A garden that becomes a magnet for more of the same energy.

Keep nurturing what’s already working and keep tending to your garden with love. What we focus on expands ✨
