The best place to put your Christmas tree for good Feng Shui
If you celebrate Christmas, this article is for you! In Feng Shui, the placement of your tree can do wonders for the Chi in your home.
I have experimented with this over the years and have placed my tree in various areas of my home, depending on what I needed more of at the time.
For example, if this holiday season you are looking for more love, you could place your tree in the Love & Relationships area of your home.
Now, not all areas of the Bagua favor the element wood (which is the element of your tree) but, you can always decorate it with the element you need in that area. So if you want a new career for example, you can decorate with the colors blue and black to symbolize water. This is also beneficial if you have no choice in where you tree has to be placed.
If we take a look at the Bagua map, we can see that the areas that favor the element wood are the wealth and prosperity and the family Gua’s.
These are located in the back left corner (or the Southeast) and the middle left area (or the east) sections of your home. These areas would be ideal locations. When we place the wood element in these sections, they strengthen the Chi of family and prosperity.
If you are able the place your tree in your wealth and prosperity Gua here are some tips:
Opt for decor that is purple as this is the color of wealth.
Make sure all your tree lights are in working order and replace any burnt out bulbs.
If you have a real tree, be sure that it is healthy and you are clearing away pine needles that have dropped regularly.
Make sure that the corner behind the tree is dust free.
If you are able to place your tree in the family Gua here are some tips:
Decorate with green ornaments. Any shade of green will work.
Add ornaments that children and family members have made or gifted you.
You can also add pictures of family members to your tree in pretty ornament frames.
Use colorful lights.
Keep the area around the tree clean and clear.
Remember if you can’t place your tree in these areas, look at the Bagua map to see where your tree is placed and decorate according to placement.
For more love this holiday season decorate with shades of pink, red, and white and add earth elements like clay or weaved ornaments. Place your tree in the back right corner, or southwest of your home.
If your plan is to travel the world, place your tree in the front right corner, or the northwest, and decorate with metal elements like gold, silver, or bronze ornaments.
For strengthened relationships with your children, or to release creativity, place your tree in the middle right, or west and decorate with white and metal elements. Also get creative with this area. Let yourself decorate with the colors you love, any style you like!
For more recognition and fame, place your tree in the back center, or south. Use fire colors like red or orange and choose bright lights.
If you want to strengthen and expand your knowledge and spirituality. Place your tree in the front left corner, or northeast, and use teal and lighter shades of blue and earth elements.
