The art of homemaking
Your guide to Blissful homemaking ✨️
This blog post is written for the homemakers. The one who’s life revolves around the home, the kids, the schedules, and the meal planning (and many, many other things!)
In a world that glorifies hustle, independence, and constant movement, the scared art of homemaking is quietly reclaiming its place in the hearts of women everywhere. Women who long for that slow life, softness, intentional life.
Homemaking is more than just cooking, cleaning and decorating. It is an energy and a divine way of living that turns a house into a home, and a daily routine into rituals.
Welcome to the art of homemaking, where your home becomes a canvas, your energy gets to thrive, and where you can allow yourself to live in your divine feminine energy.
I have been a homemaker (with many side hustles!) for the last 13 years. It wasn't until I fully let myself just be, that i began to thrive. Sure, the routine can be a little repetitive sometimes but, I know that is when I am ready to expand into more. I use the signs to understand that I am ready for the next level of me. I will show you how I do this!
🌸 What is homemaking?
Now let’s not get it mixed up! Homemaking is not about spotless counters, Instagram worthy decor, or having a Pinterest worthy pantry.
It is about tending to your home with intention and love.
It is the art of:
Cultivating warmth and connection.
Creating beauty in everything you do.
Making space for rest, creativity and celebration.
Infusing love into everything (yes, even the folding the laundry!)
💗 Why is homemaking sacred (especially for the feminine soul)
For women - especially those in their stay at home season or those reconnecting to their feminine energy - homemaking is more than a to do list. It becomes a form of self expression, healing and even a spiritual practice.
A tidy room can clear your mind, a nourishing meal can heal you, a fresh bouquet of flowers can raise your vibration.
In many ways, the state of your home reflects the state of your mind.
When we begin to tend to our home like we would a garden, nurturing it, decorating it, softening it - we create a space that not only looks good but, feels like home. That changes everything.
✨️ The art of homemaking
Create a morning routine
My favorite homemaking tip, and one i have stuck to for the last 10 years!
Create a morning routine that you can realistically stick to.
I wake up one hour before anyone else. In this time I journal, mediate and (three days a week) work out. When we do even one thing for ourselves in the morning, we start our day in better energy. After my hour to myself I am ready to tackle my day.
If one hour is too much, start with 15 minutes. Maybe you can read for 15 minutes or lightly stretch.
On days when we are rushed to be somewhere early, I will still wake up earlier but infuse it with tasks to make the day flow better. For example; before I journal, I will start one load of laundry or, put away the dishes from the night before. Or as my coffee brews, I will do a quick sweep of the kitchen. Those little tasks make a huge difference.
Infuse intention into daily tasks
Instead of rushing through dishes or laundry, turn them into mini meditations. Play music, listen to a podcast, light a candle or even catch up on a show you love.
When we infuse something we want to do with something we have to do, it makes it more enjoyable.
Romanticize everything!
I recently watched the new season of Ginny and Georgia on Netflix as I made dinner this week! I looked forward to cooking and watching one episode. It definitely made something i had to do a better experience! Try it.
Create a home that reflects you
Let your home tell the story of you and your family. Have fun with it. My home reflects who I am, I have crsytals and plants everywhere!
You can even play around with moving furniture and switching around decor. This will not only help change the energy in your home but shift stagnant energy.
Use the Bagua Map to help you decorate with intention.
Redecorating and getting into your creativity is one way to tap into your feminine energy. Creating beauty around you is what creates magic in your life.
Don’t be surprised if after you do this, you receive some unexpected money or a new opportunity!
Honor the seasons
Let your home flow the seasons.
Light and airy in the spring, warm and cozy as the months get colder.
Open windows, switch around decor, cook foods that are in season. Have fun with moving with the energy of nature. Life is meant to feel in flow.
Cook with love
Nourishment is a love language. Whether you are cooking a meal for your family or baking with your children, approach cooking as an act of love to yourself and those you love.
When we cook with love, we are infusing that energy into the food we are making.
P.s it is still love if you ordered take out for your family! We are all worthy of those breaks!
Use Sunday to prep your week
When we create a plan, we are more likely to stick to it.
Use Sundays to roughly plan your week so that you don’t forget anything.
Include things like:
Appointments.
Tasks around the home that need to get done.
Meal plan.
Bills that need to be paid.
I also like to do one big task a week that is on my to do list.
For example: If one of my children's closets needs to be organized, I will make time to do that.
Prioritize self care
Homemaking often requires a lot of energy being put out into the home and to everyone around you. Making time to prioritize your own needs is very important.
This may look like getting your nails done, a therapy session, or a solo outing. This could even just be an everything shower or an evening bath.
Sometimes on a random Wednesday, I like to do a face mask or oil my hair as a way to connect back to myself.
When we pour love back into ourselves, we radiate that love back out. Self care practices activate our inner Goddess at home.
🌹Final thoughts: Making homemaking your own
Homemaking isn’t about doing it all, it’s about being fully present in what you do. Whether you are folding laundry with a toddler on your hip or, rearranging your decor - you are making a home.
So light the candle, fluff those pillows, sweep with intention and know this: every loving touch you give flows back to you tenfold.
You are the Goddess of your home. Tend to it with grace, and it will become your most powerful place of magic, rest, renewal and manifestation ✨️
