Feng Shui tips for your side hustle
Feng Shui tips for success! ✨️
I am the queen of side hustle. I have worked since I was 15 years old so having my first baby and staying home to take care of her was a challenge at first (i was working 3 jobs at 8 months pregnant!)
Even after Nyah was born, I tried several things to create an income at home, all with some success but not massive - i was even a Beachbody coach!
One of the reasons why they didn’t generate the income I dreamed was because I was operating them from my masculine energy.
My reason for starting these ‘jobs’ was to help create a second income. This is fine, but it can’t be your main reason and here is why:
As women who stay at home, we use so much of our energy in other ways. Keeping up with our homes, looking after children, taking care of everyone. We are always in action mode, which is a masculine trait. When we hustle and grind on a side job to try and make some money, we come from a place of lack. A place of chasing money. When we chase anything, it usually runs away from us.
This had me thinking, what if i could operate my businesses from a different energy?
This led me to work on my mindset. Mindset, is everything when it comes to business. Instead of that chasing energy, we need to get into receiving energy and change our ‘why’ when it comes to creating more income.
When our ‘why’ changes from i need to make money, to i recieve money with ease and create positive changes in people’s lives, the energy around money changes.
We also want to make sure we are not creating a business for the wrong reasons. Don't try and push yourself to do something you secretly hate. Instead, choose something that feels good, natural and fun to you. For example; when I started my jewelry business, it started as a fun craft to do with my daughter and evolved from joy. In return, it did really well and made a great income.
There are times when I really want to make fun jewelry for children again (pictured above is a set i made for a client’s daughter 💗)
I have allowed myself to follow my intuition and guidance and that has led me to where I am today, helping people all over the world Feng Shui their homes and right here with this blog. These are my passions and where I feel like I am living in my purpose and wanting to share my wisdom with you.
Whether you are selling hand crafted items on Etsy, coaching clients from your dining table, or running a virtual boutique after bedtime routines, your side hustle deserves a space that allows growth, support and massive compensation.
💰 Feng Shui tips for your side hustle
Claim a space in your home
Even if that is working from your kitchen table, or a corner of your bedroom, it is intention that matters. You do not need a fancy office space to be successful. When you treat your business seriously energetically, it begins to take itself seriously too.
Feng Shui tip: Claim a space in your home. Anchor the energy of your side hustle space with a plant, a rug or a crystal. Symbolically claim the space as a designated work area. During my jewelry business days, I had a tiny corner of my living room and one drawer of my daughter’s toy shelf to store my beads. As soon as bed time came around, I was sitting in that corner beading until I couldn’t stay awake any longer. That space felt like mine, for my creative happiness.
2. Declutter your work area
Clutter blocks energy flow. After you have chosen your space and anchored your energy. Make sure the path ways to that area are clear and clean. If the area around your work space is chaotic, your business will mirror that. Make space for new opportunities and room and to expand.
Feng Shui tip: Keep a bowl of sea salt in your work area to keep the energy cleansed. Salt is very purifying and will naturally cleanse unwanted, negative ebergy.
3. Lighting is key
Lighting is key to activating yang, bright energy. If the area you are working in is dark, use a lamp that brightens the area. Not only will this help you think clearly and inspire new ideas, a well lit work area means opportunities can find you.
Feng Shui tip: If possible, work in the command position. Even if you don’t have a desk, you can position yourself in the command position. This is when your back is against a solid wall and you can see the entrance to the room you are in.
4. Activate your wealth corner
This will help to pull in abundance. The wealth corner is the far left, back area of your home when you are standing at the front door.
This is a powerful corner and must be activated before you start any job.
Feng Shui tip: Activate your wealth corner by adding the wood element, citrine crystals, and gold accents. It can also help to write out your business name or company you work for with 3 positive affirmations for succes and place it somewhere in this area. You can also place a business card or a picture of your logo.
5. Always use positive affirmations
Only use positive words when talking about your business to others. Never say that business is hard or slow. What we say with our words must be our reality. Changing how we talk about our business can change everything, even if you don't believe it at first. A belief is just something we have said over and over again. Why not create new positive beliefs?
Feng Shui tip: Keep a list of positive affirmations about your business in your work area and read them before you start ‘working’. Start with good energy and you will receive that back x10.
6. Keep the energy moving
Stagnant energy can show up as slow sales, creative blocks and even procrastination. Keep things flowing by updating product listings often and even shifting things in your work space regularly.
Feng Shui tip: Rearranging even the smallest items, such as your pen holder can help to get energy flowing again. This can signal to the universe that you are ready and open for new momentum.
7. Incorporate Feminine flow
Especially if you are a woman that is balancing family, your business, your work. Your space should support softness and sustainability - not just hustle. Add elements that bring you joy and comfort. A candle, a soft blanket or pillow, a picture of your family. Something that soothes your nervous system.
Feng Shui tip: Add something round in shape, like a circular bowl or round mirror. This supports yin energy and invites the receiving energy.
Final thoughts: Your side hustle should be an extension if your soul. Let your work area reflect the success you are calling in. Start with one small shift and see the big impact it has on your life ✨️
