Home office inspiration: How to design a space you actually love working in
Omg you guys! This year i will be designing my own little office. I can't say too much now, but I am so excited!! π
Your home office is more than juste a place that you work from, it is a space that makes you feel (or should make you feel) Inspired, creative, and full of motivation.
This guide is designed to make you help you create an office that feels supportive, inspired, and very you! I will also share my mood board for my office design and reveal the color that i want on my walls.
Always start with how you want to feel β¨
Before buying anything for your home office, answer these key questions:
How do you want to feel when you sit down to work?
What colors do you want to be surrounded by?
What would your dream office look like and why?
Your answers will become your design compass. This will help you not to buy things that are impulsive and donβt fit in with your dream. Clarity around what you want is key.
A home office that is decorated around feeling will also have better lasting results than an office decorated based off of trends.
β¨ Aligned spaces create aligned trends.
When i think of my dream office, I think of a space that I get excited to step into. I think of the color pink (my favorite color) with gold accents and a chandelier to make me feel like I am working in luxury. I think of space that is a cross between a luxury hotel and a cozy coffee shop but with inspirational artwork just for me β€οΈ This is my design compass.
5 Decor items you need in your home office
A pretty rug β¨
All home offices need a rug to help ground and anchor good energy. When i Feng Shui my clients offices, a rug is the first decor item i recommend.
I love a patterned rug to bring some motivating yang energy into an office space and also some color and texture.

A sturdy desk π
The desk you choose for your home office is so important. It should be sturdy and stable, just like you want your business or work to be. Choose a solid desk, preferably made from wood or another heavy material.
Your desk is the heart of your home office, only keep essentials displayed on it and choose a desk that feels spacious. Add one beautiful object on your desk like a pretty crystal, or a framed affirmation.
π‘Feng Shui tip: Your desk represents your career path. Keep it clear to represent clarity, momentum, and openness to new opportunities.

A comfortable chair πͺ
You need to feel comfortable and supported while you work. This is another very important element to a home office. When we feel supported and comfortable, then we can focus on what we are creating with clarity.
Choose a chair that you know you can sit on for long periods at a time, be sure that it has a high back, and make sure that it doesnβt creak and squeak. Chairs that make squeaking sounds are actually a drain on finances, according to Feng Shui.
A collection of my favorite chairs on Pinterest. The gold looks so luxorious.
Light it up π―οΈ
When we want to bring attention to something, adding light automatically brings focus to it. You can do this to your work and career by adding a lamp or candles to your home office.
Choose something bright that you can either keep on your desk or add to a dark corner.

Mirrors and Artwork πͺ
The images we display in our offices will be sending subliminal messages to you every time you are in the room. Make sure you are choosing art that makes you feel inspired.
I once had a client that dreamed of working in Italy. We displayed a picture of the Italian coast as if it were her window view to help her connect to her goal daily. You could do something similar.
Mirrors help to expand energy in the room they are in. Expansion in our work life is so good if we have big goals to meet. Place a mirror on either the left or right wall in your office. I try to avoid having them behind me because they can make me feel anxious.
