6 Items to remove from your home to improve money flow: A Feng Shui Spring cleaning guide

This is not just your normal spring cleaning guide, it is a spring cleaning guide that is intended to help you improve the flow of money in your life, and what could be better than that?! đŸȘ™

According to Feng Shui, Spring cleaning is more than just decluttering and deep cleaning your home, it is the time to intentionally release things with the expectation that abundance will flow.

Well, that is what we practice when i work with my clients, and that is how you should be spring cleaning too.

Spring is also associated with the wood element, which is the element of wealth and prosperity so it is the perfect time to use that energy for your own money flow.

Every home has a wealth area and hidden wealth areas, do you know where yours are?

When you remove what no longer belongs, you naturally create momentum. This momentum is what abundance follows.

Here are 6 items to intentionally move during your spring cleaning if you want money to move with more ease this season.

  1. Broken or damaged items

This is my number one recommendation for any time of the year.

Broken and damaged items are energy drainers, more specifically abundant energy drains. They will always hold in that ‘not good enough’ energy and will keep you stuck.

This includes:

  • Broken and chipped dishes.

  • Broken electronics and appliances.

  • Furniture or items that don’t function like they once did.

Keeping hold of anything that doesn’t work properly, or at all, during the season of growth, is the number one reason why you can’t move forward.

✹ Extra tip: Replace batteries in items that need them as soon as they die. Not doing so also holds the same frequency of stagnation and putting up with things in life that you shouldn’t be.

2. Lingering items from winter

As we should know by now, we need to moving with the seasons of nature. Not moving and changing with the seasons is why a lot of people complain about lack cycles that never end in their lives.

As we approach the season of spring, what in your home still looks like winter? Maybe you have old winter coats that you need to donate, or paper piles of things you meant to sort through last season.

Carrying winter clutter into spring slows momentum and blocks new financial opportunities.

3. Clothes that you no longer need

Spring should be more of an identity shift. Your wardrobe should reflect that.

The end of February is when i do a huge closet clear out. I pack my winter stuff away as thick and heavy materials block my view of other lighter items. This will not only block financial opportunities, but will mean your closet is too stuffed. New money can’t come to you if there is no space.

What to release:

  • Heavy thick sweaters and coats.

  • Clothes that no longer fit.

  • Empty shoe boxes.

  • Items that still have tags but you have had them for years and still won’t wear them.

  • Anything from winter that you won’t wear next winter.

  • Clothing with holes and rips.

4. Items connected to scarcity or stressful seasons

Before i came back to Feng Shui and applied it to my life, my finances felt stuck. Like i could get to a certain amount of income but not any higher. I believed that, that was just my story and didn’t allow myself to see it any other way.

One day i was tidying my bedroom and noticed that i had a picture of me on my dresser with a friend that always said she had the worst luck, and was always complaining having no money. I looked at that picture and could just feel the energy of lack radiating from it. I made the decision then and there, that, that would not be my story. I changed the picture in the frame to an image of a goal i was working towards and the energy shifted within weeks.

So this is your permission slip to remove any items that give you that same feeling of lack, or to donate anything that you have that is linked to a period of life that felt heavy for you. Removing that energy will stop it from seeping into your subconscious mind.

5. Excess or neglect in the wealth corner

I put a copy of the Bagua map in this blog post for a reason. So that you can locate your wealth area to see what is there. Align the bottom of the Bagua (the row that contains the career gua, with the wall of your home that contains the front door) To find yours.

Last month i worked with a wonderful client that attempted to Feng shui on her own. Her wealth corner was stuffed with lucky trinkets and money cats. There was no space for wealth to even come into her home. Also, an excess of wealth trinkets holds the energy of lack and desperation. We want clear money corners with a few items that symbolize, wealth, growth, and expansion. This will make sure that wealth energy can circulate freely.

A neglected wealth corner has the same effect. Make sure that your wealth area is clean, dust free, and decluttered.

A few items in your wealth corner is all you need, i would suggest 1 or 2 max.

Some ideas:

  • A healthy, thriving plant.

  • A picture that symbolizes wealth like an image of an overflowing bowl of lemons.

  • A Citrine or Pyrite crystal.

  • A wooden bowl of coins.

6. Items stored under the bed

Rest is an important part or receiving more money. Rest is not something we typically associate with money, but we can’t receive from an unrested, chaotic, unhealthy space.

If you have things stored under your bed, what are they? Then think about the quality of sleep you get and how rested you feel when you wake up.

Try to avoid anything under the bed.

If you do have draws and need the extra storage, try and only keep things like blankets, pillows, and bedsheets under the bed.

Work or exercise items are the biggest no for under the bed.
