My Feng Shui blogging routine: As a work from home mom
This summer i am committed to helping women create passive income streams online. One of the best ways to do that is by blogging. I am fully living that laptop lifestyle and i love it. I would love to show you how to do that too ✨
Two years ago i took a chance and took a course by one of my favorite mentors Ashlina Kaposta. If you don’t know her, she is a successful blogger, mom, and entrepreneur. At the time she was promoting her Blissful Blogging Course, and i was so interested in seeing how blogging could work for me.
Since we had made the decision to homeschool our children, i knew that my time to sit on hours of zoom calls everyday wouldn’t be possible, but i still wanted a way to share my love of Feng Shui with the world. That is where the Modern Feng Shui blog started. Taking the course was all of the push that i needed and i am so glad that i was led there.
Now i have built routines and systems that work around my family, allows me to make an income, and it has been wonderful for my nervous system. Blogging has helped me fully step into my Feminine Energy.
Why you should start a blog
Blogging isn’t just a creative outlet, it’s one of the most powerful ways to build long-term income from home. When you start a blog, you’re creating digital assets that can work for you 24/7, bringing in traffic, opportunities, and income long after you hit publish.
Through ad revenue, affiliate marketing, sponsored content, and your own digital products, a single blog post can turn into multiple income streams. Unlike trading time for money, blogging allows you to build something that grows over time—meaning the effort you put in today can continue paying you months or even years down the line. Doesn’t that just sound amazing?!
With consistency and the right strategy, your blog becomes more than a website, it becomes a scalable, income-generating platform that supports your lifestyle with freedom and flexibility.
Sooooo, if you are an expert on a certain subject, or you could talk for hours and hours to people about something all day, create a blog and start sharing!
What do people call you for advice about? If you have people in your world that will take time out of their day to ask you for advice about something, blog about it and monetize it. These are your natural gifts and this is your purpose.
If you are not sure how a blog will fit into your life right now, i am going to share with you, my blogging routine as a mom of three children.
My Feng Shui Blogging Routine
Working from home and being a mom means that nothing really goes as planned.
Each week my schedule is filled with all of my children’s activities and we also volunteer and work at farm twice, every week. Farming season alone can take up so much time!
If i am honest there are times where blogging can feel impossible and can quickly move to the bottom of my priority list. But here is where my environment supports me.
When i say that Feng Shui has supported me and changed my life, i really mean it. Instead of relying on motivation, I created a space and routine that naturally supports focus, creativity, and consistency, even on busy days and on the days when everything goes sideways.
My core philosophy: Energy before output
Before i even open my laptop to begin working i make sure my environment feels right.
This means i do a quick scan of the room i am working in and pick up anything i know will distract me. Because when i can see clutter on the floor, or things piled on the coffee table, i know that my energy will be focused there and not on my work tasks.
If there are things in the room that are out of place, i know that it will give me an excuse to procrastinate and put things off until later when i know i won’t have time.
6:00 - 8:00 AM: My creation window
This is my non negotiable blogging time. Before my house is awake, i protect and block off this time for work. When i started doing this and treating my blog like a real business, it made a big difference in my income and the quality of my work.
My Feng Shui morning set up:
I open the curtains to let in natural light (i turn on a lamp in the dark winter mornings)
I make sure there are no distractions (see above) This may mean that i spend a few minutes before bed tidying up
I light candles to signal the start of work and blow it out when i am done
I always sit in the command position of any room i work in
I also don’t allow myself to scroll on my phone until after i am done.
I will focus on:
Writing blog content
Outlining future blog posts
Create my Pinterest pins for the next few days
I consistently post on Pinterest, this is a key for blogging success as it drives traffic to your blog. You can check out thePinterest Wealth Academyto help you. I am for around 3-5 fresh pins everyday and batch creating them helps to know what to post.
Midday tasks:
By midday my focus is honestly not on my blog! But i will do tasks that don’t require a lot of focus like:
Checking analytics
Making notes of any ideas i may have gotten
Do a little bit of keyword research
Check emails
The key to not burning out is putting simple routines in place and taking the pressure off. My midday tasks help but in a non pressure type of way.
Optional check in:
If, and only if, i have some time in the evening i will:
Plan my morning tasks
Review the ideas i had earlier
Check emails
Sometimes i don’t want to do this at all but, if i am at one of my children’s sports activities i will take my laptop and do this if i have time. Some evenings i am so tired that i don’t open my laptop or check anything at all and that is totally fine.
💻My weekly Feng Shui blogging rhthym
Instead of doing certain things everyday, i assign different days for different tasks. This not only helps me keep up, it makes it seem doable and stops me from giving up.
I only spend 2 or 3 days actually writing blog posts
3 - 5 fresh pins daily but i batch create on Mondays usually for the whole week
2 days of planning and prep - keyword research, brainstorming, and thinking of new ideas
How Feng Shui supports my income
These are my Feng Shui tips that i apply to my home to support my business and my income.
I keep the wealth corner activated (Plants, gold accents, crystals)
My vision board is visible and in my Fame and Reputation area - i always update it with new goals
My home feels abundant - no broken items, tidy, clean floors
My entryway is clear and has no obstacles - this makes new opportunities for wealth feel welcome
