Moodboard Mondays: Color palettes inspired by nature

I wanted to put some focus onto the Earth element. When we think of the Earth element, our minds may picture a home filled with plants. Although that may seem like an obvious choice, in Feng Shui plants are actually part of the Wood element.

The element of Earth is important for any home. It brings that structure antld stability and is associated with the Love and Relationships, knowledge and self cultivation and, the health Gua's according to the Bagua map.

Having this element in these areas will strengthen them.

Earth Element decor

Think terracotta, cotton, natural prints and images of nature. When we are shopping for the Earth element, we need to be looking at materials and natural colors like beige, creams and browns.

Mixing terracotta with nature decor items is one of my favorite ways to add earth to homes. The floral dishes in these colors are so pretty!

To me, brass and terracotta are a color combination that works so well together. In the Feng Shui element cycle, Metal supports Earth so this pairing is a match made in heaven.

Although typically a Wood element, muted greens can be used as the Earth element. The color of moss is earthy and grounding. Mixing this green with natural materials could change the whole energy of your home. I love this cottage, whimsical vibe.

You can add Earth accents to any style and decor. From vintage to modern, the earth element can be used in any home. Marble is a naturally found material that can be added to any modern home to enhance Earth. Kitchen counters, jewelry dishes and even coffee tables made of marble are beautiful. A heavy, marble coffee table will also help to slow down fast moving Chi in the living room.
