My coffee table this week. Love this book!
This week i have been adjusting the Feng Shui in my home. I like to do this at the start of every month. I always assess what went on the previous month and then adjust accordingly.
I start any new month with a sage ritual and then open the front door for a few minutes to let in come fresh energy.
Creating rituals in your home will always create connection with the energy that you surround yourself with. These 5 Feng Shui secrets can become part of your new home rituals, let’s dive in!
Mirror your desires
Mirrors are so powerful, i think i say this in almost every blog post!
We can use them to attract our dream life, here is why:
What we reflect with mirrors, doubles and amplifies. When we have mirrors that face garbage bins or clutter, we are inviting chaos and messy situations into our lives. Check to see what your mirrors are facing and see if you want that in your life anymore. You can always move the mirror to face something else, or adjust what the mirror is facing.
Here are some things that mirrors can face to double positive energy:
Artwork you love.
Your vision board to bring energy to it.
Your wealth corner to double the money coming in.
Family pictures during a happy time.
The dining table to double connection.
Light up your Fame and Reputation
Now this year is the year of the fire horse according to Chinese astrology. We need to be adding the element of fire to our homes.
Fire is the element connected to the Fame and reputation area of the Bagua map.
This fire horse year is all about movement and running towards what we want (think of a galloping horse) so we should be honoring the energy of the year.
Add one element of fire to your fame and reputation area. You can find this by standing at your front door and locating the back middle area of your home. If you align more with traditional Feng Shui, then you will need to grab your compass and find the south.
Things you can add:
Candles.
A tall lamp.
A salt lamp.
The color red.
Triangular shapes.
The Bagua map.
Display what you want to call in
This is so simple and yet so many of us don’t do it.
You may have heard this before, but our home is literal 3D vision board of what we are attracting into our lives. Everything we have is emitting an energy and frequency that is either supporting us or sabotaging us.
Try this: Scan each and every room and see what you are displaying. Take note of how you feel when you see these items. Do you need to put some things away?
One way we can create our dream life is by only displaying things that support what we want. When we surround ourselves with that energy we actually bring it to us, because the universe believes we are already living it.
Some examples:
Display images of countries you want to visit. You can even display souvenirs from these places if you have them. Great if you want to travel more.
Items that feel like luxury to you if you want to call that in. This could even be a new set of bedsheets to help you feel worthy and taken care of.
Gold home accents to call in wealth and prosperity.
The most important thing to remember here is to remove things that give you a negative feeling. If you have a piece of art hanging that you hate, remove it until you find a replacement. A blank space is better than negative energy flowing around your home.
Your bedroom reflects your inner world
The bedroom is where we spend most of our lives. We sleep in the energy of our rooms for a long time, that energy has the most impact on us.
Are you sleeping in a chaotic environment? I really believe that applying Feng Shui to the bedroom is an act of self love. It is one way that we can show ourselves love, that doesn’t impact anyone else. (If you feel selfish or guilty for loving yourself first, you have some work to do friend!)
These are my bedroom basic tips that you can apply today:
Change your sheets weekly.
Remove clutter or anything from around the bed. If you have to step over things to get into bed, remove the obstacles in your life.
Create balance by making sure you have two night stands and create symmetry on them.
Remove chaotic artwork. Replace with soothing images of pairs of things.
Take out laundry baskets of dirty laundry. Clothes, especially dirty clothes, hold old energy.
Basically, create peace and sanctuary in your bedroom.
The Bagua map
If you take one of these tips and apply them, let it be this one.
Align the areas of the Bagua map and add one item that represents it. This is my easiest way to start Feng Shui that i say to everyone who is skeptical.
Align the Bagua to your home by aligning the bottom row (the one that contains career) with the wall of your home that contains the front door and find your areas.
Then add, or rearrange one thing that represents that area. For example: Adding the element of wood (plants, baskets etc) to your wealth area will bring the energy of money to your home.
The reason i suggest this tip is because, many homes are lacking a balance in all areas. This is why we rarely see people who truly have it all. They may have money but they are unlucky in love, or they have the best social life but, are behind on their bills.
We can also back up what we want by creating strong and clear intentions about what we want.
Homework: Grab a journal and put the 9 areas of the Bagua map as headings. Get clear on what you want. Like, super clear. Write out at least two intentions for that area.
When i first started Feng Shui, i would actually tuck these intentions somewhere in these areas. Only i knew they were there but they changed the energy for everyone in my house.
Try these tips and then let me know what changed for you! I can’t wait to hear all about it.
