In 2026, I am dedicated to helping you live your best life and get the energy in home aligned ✨️

I like to think of January as not a time to reinvent yourself, but a time where it’s time to remove what has been keeping you stuck. This is the best way for your New Year’s goals and resolutions to stick and last for the rest of the year.

Before you can create goals, new habits, and manifestations to your life, you first need to find clarity. You can’t attract from a place of chaos and clutter. Clutter around you, creates a crowded mind. So you may be trying to attract new things but are they actually what you want? Or are they things you think you should have, or other peoples wishes for you?

Our environment can help us find this clarity and is often overlooked and not mentioned by manifestation teachers and life coaches.

The tips i am going to share with you aren’t your typical decluttering tips. They are energetic removals. These will help your nervous system and subconscious mind to relax and find the clarity you need. Then you are ready to create your life from a place of certainty.

If you remove even one of these things before January 31st, you will most definitely feel the shift starting.

  1. Something that represents an old version of you

Your home holds certain things that represent your identity. Sometimes these things represent an old version of you that is keeping you in the same place you were years ago. It’s why we think we are only meant for certain things. Nothing is permanent or written in black sharpie in the sky saying you can only have certain things in life.

The truth is, you can have anything you want without limits when you let go of the limitations.

Things in your home that may be holding you back:

  • Clothes from a life you no longer live. This could be uniforms from old jobs or clothes from your teenage years. You will know when you see them, that they no longer represent who you want to be.

  • Decor that reflects an old aesthetic or season.

  • Objects that are tied to a version of you that survived. This could be something that brings up a memory of a hard time in your life. We are not just surviving anymore, we are thriving, so you can let it go.

2. Anything you keep ‘just in case’

The things we keep for ‘just in case’ purposes means we are preparing for the worst to happen. Guess what? This energy of fear, creates more situations to be fearful of and some serious lack energy.

These could be:

  • Clothes we keep after losing weight in bigger sizes, just in case we put the weight back on.

  • The little wires and cables we keep just in case we need them even though we don’t.

  • Hoarding food and other supplies just in case the world runs out of them and we will need them.

  • Single items like earrings, just in case we magically find the other one.

3. Objects that hold emotional weight

Some items look pretty and harmless but they carry an energy for you that feels heavy.

This could be:

  • Gifts from a difficult relationship.

  • Objects tied to a stressful time. I once went home decor shopping and bought this decorative pineapple for my desk that i loved. On the way home from shopping we got into a car accident and for the weeks after that is all i could think of when i saw that pineapple on my desk. That energy impacted my business at the time. Returning that pineapple changed everything!

  • Art that lowers the energy in your home. Think: Moody landscapes, boats on rough seas, and images of storms and rain.

4. One area that you have normalized as ‘always a mess’

We all have that one space that becomes a dumping ground. That one communal area that everyone feels like is normal to be chaotic and messy. Did you know that, that area in your home is connected to an area of the Bagua map, and is keeping your from having balance in your life.

In my home, this is the laundry room but we work hard to keep it in check as it is also our love and relationships area according to my Bagua.

For you this could be:

  • A junk drawer that holds a lot of nothing but lots of mess.

  • The one chair that laundry piles up on.

  • A forgotten shelf.

  • Your closet.

  • The basement or storage room.

These areas actually impact our mental clarity. Even though we think we have forgotten about them, our subconscious minds still know they exist.

5. Broken items that live in your home

Broken items are negative energy. They leak energy and send messages like “I make do”, “This is good enough”, and “I’ll fix it later” and then the time never comes.

January is the the best time to end survival energy and that just getting by energy.

Remove or repair things like:

  • Broken jewelry. This also goes for rings that you need to resize and have just been putting off (this is so important for wedding rings. It will help to strengthen your marriage)

  • Wobbly furniture.

  • Items that don’t function properly.

You will find life will flow more easily for you.

6. Expired beauty products

The items that we intend to use for self love and sit closest to your body matter more than we think.

My 13 year old daughter loves brands from Sephora. We buy her all of these lip balms and skin care products and then they just sit on her bathroom counter looking pretty. She is waiting for special occasions to wear them and had no idea they expire! Let’s just say, everyday is now a special occasion for her.

Clear out:

  • Old make up.

  • Half used shampoo bottles.

  • Expired skincare.

  • Products you no longer enjoy.

  • Items that irritate your skin.

7. Visual clutter where your eyes need rest

Visual clutter drains energy even when we aren’t aware of it.

Look at:

  • Bedside tables.

  • Bathroom counters.

  • Piles of laundry.

  • Your workspaces.

Remove things that don’t belong in these spaces. Peace in all areas is key.

8. Old paper that keeps you in the past

Paper holds memories, stress, and sometimes unfinished business.

I once had a client that still had a framed marriage certificate from her ex husband on her wall and wondered why she couldn’t meet someone new!

What we keep in paper form can impact everything.

Remove:

  • Old notes and to do lists from previous years.

  • Old journals from stressful years.

  • Past bills and receipts you no longer need.

  • Manuals from appliances you have had for years (You don’t need them, i promise!)

  • Legal papers from years ago like contracts from old rental homes.

9. Decor that no longer matches your desired energy

Your taste evolves and that is totally ok. In fact, it shows that you are expanding and growing, we love that over here!

Take a look at the decor that has been in your home the longest.

Does it match the energy you want in your home now?

Do you still love it now, the way you did then?

If not, this is permission for you to remove or donate it. You don’t need to replace everything, just what feels like a past version of you.

And finally……

10. One thing you have been ready to let go of but haven’t

You probably already know what it is. It may even be in a bag in the back of your car yet you forget to drop it to the donation bin every time you leave the house.

It could also be a decor item you keep moving around your home, trying to make fit again.

Feng Shui works best when intuition leads.

Letting these items finally go could spark the life change you have been waiting for. You are safe to let it go.

Remember to always set the intention that what you let go of will always bring miracles and great things back into your life. Removal is a form of manifestation.
